March 2025 marks the unveiling of the People’s Flag of Cleveland, an exciting development for the city. After months of community engagement and collaboration, the flag was officially revealed to the public, and it is already becoming a symbol of civic pride.

Designed by Shan Rodich of Aurora, the flag features elements inspired by Cleveland’s history, geography, and vibrant community spirit. The design incorporates shades of blue, green, and white, symbolizing Lake Erie, the city’s Irish heritage, and the city’s urban landscape. Although there is no formal adoption of the flag by the Cleveland City Council yet, the flag is gaining widespread support from local residents and organizations, and it is expected to become a prominent symbol representing Cleveland’s identity.

For those interested in getting their hands on a piece of Cleveland history, flags are now available for purchase through the official Cleveland Flag Project website. The flag is not only a piece of local pride but also an example of the city’s creative spirit and its residents’ desire to celebrate their unique heritage.
